Dodgers Announce Vin Scully Has Been Hospitalized After Suffering Injury From Fall on Tuesday
By Adam Weinrib

Luckily, the Dodgers waited to announce this whopper until they had good news to pair with it, but that doesn't mean we're exhaling.
The team took to Twitter on Thursday to announce that iconic broadcaster Vin Scully had fallen at his home on Tuesday afternoon, and had been transported to the hospital, where he's been resting ever since. Of course, the somber announcement also came with a classic Scully quip.

Vin says, “I won’t be doing anymore headfirst sliding, I never liked it.”
While this would already be worrisome in any given year (after all, there's nothing innocent about a fall at Scully's advanced age of 92), it's even more difficult to think about right now, while the coronavirus pandemic rages across the country and turns most hospitals into overloaded hot spots.
It's only natural to worry about the danger Scully's in, even if all indications are he's resting and healthy right now.
In recent weeks, many of us have relied on an archive of Scully clips to get us through a springtime without baseball, and it's worked wonders.

Now, we simply have to cross our fingers and send our best wishes to the broadcasting legend -- 67 years of Dodger baseball was simply not enough.
