Dodgers Considering Position Change for Top Prospect Gavin Lux
By Michael Luciano

The Los Angeles Dodgers have one of the most crowded infields in the league between Max Muncy, Corey Seager, Justin Turner, and top prospect Gavin Lux.
With the Dodgers dipping their toes into the Anthony Rendon pool, that could force Lux out of a starting role. In an attempt to get him at bats, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts suggested that Lux could see some reps in the outfield, a position that he has not played since the Dodgers drafted him 20th overall in 2016.
From yesterday: #Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the club is considering trying out Gavin Lux in the outfield, a position he's yet to play as a pro. https://t.co/KwdIanu5Qe

The 21-year-old Lux blitzed through the minors before earning a call-up to the Dodgers in September. Lux hit .240 with two home runs and nine RBI in 23 games, showing some of the insane bat control and pop he has in his bat.
This position change could come entirely as a result of signing Rendon, but the Dodgers have too great of a talent on their hands to have him ride the pine or get shuttled between LA and Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Dodgers have rebuffed some teams that have called with interest in Gavin Lux. LA is said to like Anthony Rendon though it remains unclear how they’d clear room for him. Justin Turner has generously volunteered to switch position but Dodgers have Max Muncy at 1B and Lux at 2B.

Lux's bat is too enticing to keep out of the lineup. The outfield seems an odd fit, but a player with his athleticism and speed could prove more than capable in a corner outfield position.
