Dodgers Deal Catcher Josh Thole and Reliever to Angels to Clear Path for AJ Pollock's Activation
By Adam Weinrib

Heading into the second half, the Dodgers needed to clear a few roster spots in order welcome back one of their major offseason additions to the fold.
Speedy outfielder slugger AJ Pollock has made his way back to the bigs, and in order to slide him seamlessly into a roster spot, the Dodgers called their crosstown "rivals" to help relieve them of a few burdens.

The 26-year-old McCreery performed well in Double-A this year, but posted a 5.79 ERA at the Triple-A level. He's depth for the Angels, at best, and hasn't appeared in the bigs yet in 2019.
The 32-year-old Thole, formerly a prominent Met, hasn't made an MLB cameo since 2016.

Thought to be a massive addition, Pollock hasn't been a big part of a 60-32 start in LA following a nasty staph infection. With the addition of Corey Seager and Pollock to the roster, however, as well as veteran and World Series champ David Freese, the first-place team in the NL West somehow got even better. Carry on!
