VIDEO: George Lopez Trolls Astros With Song on Dodgers' Team Zoom
By Scott Rogust
Did you really think a global pandemic would stop baseball fans from hating the Houston Astros? You should have known better than that. With the 2020 MLB regular season paused due to the spread of the coronavirus, players have used Zoom calls not only to reconnect with their teammates. but to rag on the sign-stealing Astros. During a guest appearance on a Los Angeles Dodgers team video call, comedian George Lopez serenaded the team with a song that trolled Houston.
Lopez perfectly summed up the Astros cheating scandal in seven seconds.
The Dodgers know all too well about the Astros' antics throughout the 2017 season, as LA lost to Houston in seven games in the World Series. They knew something was up, especially during the now-tainted Game 5 at Minute Maid Park. It was a true back-and-forth affair with homers galore; now, we know that the Astros had a camera located in center field that allowed Houston to relay pitching signals to the batters via banging on a trash can for a competitive advantage.
Los Angeles can gain revenge against Houston this year, especially if the reported three-division realignment comes to fruition. If it does, the Dodgers will play the Astros repeatedly as division rivals, which will make for must-see television.
