Dodgers' Julio Urias Suspended 20 Games for Violating MLB's Domestic Violence Policy

Los Angeles Dodgers left-handed pitcher Julio Urias has accepted a 20-game suspension for violating MLB's Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Child Abuse policy.

Urias only has 15 games left on the suspension, as five games he missed on administrative leave have been included in the suspension. Urias has agreed not to appeal the remainder of this suspension.

The 23-year-old former top prospect was arrested back on May 13 in Los Angeles after eyewitnesses and video showed Urias shoving a female to the ground. He was immediately placed on administrative leave, which is why he only has 15 games left to serve on the suspension.
Los Angeles had high expectations for Urias as a top-of-the-rotation starter, but he's spent most of the 2019 campaign as a long reliever in the Dodger bullpen. In 27 games (six starts) this season, Urias owns a 2.53 ERA and has 67 strikeouts over 67.2 innings.
