Dodgers Minor Leaguer Announces Retirement to Pursue Career as Fashion Model

Folks, you really just don't see this everyday.

Back in 2016, the Los Angeles Dodgers drafted right-handed hurler James Carter out of UC Santa Barbara in 21st round of the MLB Draft.

Since that day, the now-25-year-old has failed to earn a promotion to the big time while posting a 3.79 ERA across 61.2 innings pitched in the last three seasons for both Single-and Double-A. Well, Carter recently took to Instagram to announce that he is retiring from baseball to pursue a professional modeling career.

In truth, it's a respectable career choice for the youngster. And no, this assessment is NOT based off his movie-star good looks. As things stand, Carter isn't listed among the Dodgers top-30 prospects.

And given the arms that LA currently has at their disposal both in the big leagues and in their farm system, a promotion for James wasn't expected to formulate anywhere in the near future.

We would, however, have liked to see Carter attempt to the defy the odds that were undisputedly stacked against him. But you do you.

Good luck with the new career, man.
