Dodgers Reportedly Interested in Signing Josh Donaldson
By Michael Luciano
A former MVP third baseman might be on the move to Hollywood.
After a strong comeback season with the Atlanta Braves, Josh Donaldson is garnering interest from several teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, in what could turn out to be an active market for the slugger.
Donaldson started to come around in a big way as a member of the Oakland Athletics, but his career took off after being traded to the Toronto Blue Jays, where he hit 41 home runs and won the MVP in 2015.
After an injury-plagued 2018 knocked him out of the elite third baseman club, Donaldson proved that he has plenty left in the tank. He clubbed 37 home runs and drove in 94 runs, posting a 6.1 WAR on a Braves team that won the NL East.
Donaldson will be 33 next year, so it's unclear how deep Andrew Friedman (and other execs) would be willing to dig into his pocket to sign him.
With Justin Turner, Corey Seager, Gavin Lux, Max Muncy and Donaldson potentially all in the same infield, the fans in the Chavez Ravine bleachers might need to prepare for a few more long balls headed their way.
