The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a minor move to shore up some of their minor league depth.

According to Chandler Rome, they have reportedly signed former Houston Astros left-hander Reymin Guduan. He had previously been suspended for disciplinary issues before ultimately getting designated for assignment.

A 27-year-old out of the Dominican Republic, Guduan has had a handful of stints at the major league level, but none of them have been particularly impressive.

In 32 career appearances, he's sporting an ugly 8.03 ERA. He has 26 strikeouts to his name, but he's also issued 16 free passes and allowed five home runs.

But for all of his struggles in the MLB, he's flashed plenty of potential down in the minors. He managed a 2.63 ERA in Triple-A while striking out 10.5 batters per nine innings.

Perhaps the Dodgers, who are known for their success in pitcher development, can help Guduan find his form at the next level (and get revenge for the Josh Fields-for-Yordan Alvarez swap). If they can, he could end up being an intriguing southpaw option out of the bullpen.

It might not be the flashiest move, but it's a low-risk acquisition that, at the very least, adds some depth.
