Domingo German's Suspension May Get Outright Canceled Based on 2020 MLB Season Outcome
By Michael Luciano

New York Yankees starter Domingo German was on track to miss over a third of the season due to his domestic violence suspension, but a shortened MLB season could make it harder for German to serve the full 63 games that he is scheduled to serve.
With the 2020 MLB season on track to be either truncated or outright cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, German's suspension will not carry over to 2021 of the season is either less than 63 games or cancelled.
The way that the MLB/MLBPA agreement reads on domestic abuse suspensions, Domingo German will have to serve the remaining 63 games of his ban, but if there is no season or a shortened season, it does not carry over to 2021. #Yankees

German used to be one of the Yankees' feel good stories after he broke out with an 18-win season last year, but his suspension has completely ruined his reputation.
While fans were understandably thrilled that German was dealt with in such a strong fashion, they'll probably be less thrilled to hear he could essentially get off scot free on a technicality.
That’s bs.

While German did get his comeuppance in principle by way of a lengthy suspension, there is still a chance that he ends up barely serving his suspension or not serving it at all, depending on how quickly MLB resumes action.
