Dominican Authorities Claim David Ortiz Shooter Still on the Loose

Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz was shot in the leg Sunday evening during what has been reported as a robbery attempt. While Ortiz survived, he sustained internal organ damage from the bullet, and departed the Domincan Republic for Boston Monday to receive further medical attention.

While reports from the Dominican Republic originally stated that the shooter was in custody, authorities have subsequently saidd that the man in police custody was the getaway driver, and that the shooter remains on the loose.
A video that showcases Eddy Feliz Garcia, who was originally believed to be the shooter, being beaten on the street by a group of witness, made the rounds on social media. While Garcia is in police custody , but is not believed to be the shooter, reports TMZ.

According to police, a second suspect, whose identity is still unknown, fled from the scene an is currently on the run.
If there is any justice in the world, Ortiz's attackers will be identified quickly and punished severely.
