Donald Cerrone May Have Cost Himself Against Tony Ferguson Because He Blew His Nose
By Sean Facey

Donald Cerrone's controversial loss to Tony Ferguson may have actually been due to a weird and unlucky choice he made after the bell signaled the end of the second round.
Of all things, Cerrone's choice to blow his nose is likely the reason that he ended up with a loss against Ferguson.

Ferguson landed a punch after the bell that broke Cerrone's nose. When Cerrone tried to blow his broken nose in between rounds, the air he was trying to expel was instead trapped in his sinus cavity, causing his face to inflate and exaggerate his injuries.
Cerrone was declared unable to continue fighting due to the injury in addition to a broken orbital and the win was given to Ferguson despite his late hit. Though unfortunate, it was the right decision considering his eye had swollen shut.

The two fighters gave the fans watching UFC 238 a true battle, and it's a shame that an untimely decision by Cerrone to clear out his nostrils is what ultimately put an end to the match.
