The Washington Nationals have stunned the baseball world by jumping out to a 2-0 lead over the Houston Astros in the World Series, as Dave Martinez's club stole the first two games at Minute Maid Park.

The series will, of course, now shift to the nation's capital for Games 3, 4, and 5 (if necessary) this weekend. While the Astros have played awful and been outscored 17-7 thus far, it would be utterly shocking to see them get swept.

Well, if Houston manages to force a Game 5, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, will be in attendance. Whether he throws out the first pitch, however, is an entirely different story.

That's about as nicely as Trump could deliver a "no" to the prospect of him throwing out the first pitch at Nationals Park, and it's not the least bit surprising that he's more concerned about his appearance than the optics of such a gesture.

Who knows, maybe the President will surprise us and give it a go. If he does, in fact, go through with the request, he should probably get in a few warm-up tosses behind the scenes.

We don't even want to think about the sheer backlash the media would unleash on Trump if he were to bounce the baseball or throw a wild pitch.

This certainly makes for a compelling storyline, but, of course, it's entirely dependent on Houston winning one of the next two games in DC.
