It seems like the jeers from the World Series haven't deterred the President from supporting the champions themselves in the slightest.

Donald Trump is set to host the Washington Nationals at the White House on Monday following their upset victory in seven games over the Houston Astros in the Fall Classic.

The Nationals will also visit their NHL pals, the Washington Capitals, on Sunday for their game against the Calgary Flames.

Though multiple players and teams across various major sports leagues in the United States have spurned the opportunity to visit the White House in recent years, it seems as though the President didn't want to pass up the chance to buddy up with the latest team from the nation's capital to bring home a title.

It certainly would have been a bad look had Trump chosen not to invite the team in his own backyard to visit, similar to what he did with the Philadelphia Eagles after they won Super Bowl LII.

Trump was in attendance for Game 5 of the World Series, but he was greeted with thunderous boos and some chants of "lock him up." He was even booed at Game 7 despite not being in attendance at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

Politics aside, Monday will mark a great moment in sports history when the Nationals visit to celebrate Washington DC's first World Series victory since 1924.
