Doug Pederson and Medical Staff Seem to Be Biggest Problem Facing Eagles Right Now

It genuinely feels like the only thing that can hold the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2019 is their seemingly never-ending list of injuries. A plethora of their stars have been shelved throughout the season -- Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, Malik Jackson, and Jason Peters, to name a few.

While injuries are obviously a part of the game and all teams have to combat that adversity, it's not farfetched to think that Doug Pederson and the Eagles' medical staff aren't at least somewhat at fault.

Pederson has an evident track record of convincing his players to play through injury, and that has come back to bite him in 2019. Look no further than D-Jax, who clearly wasn't ready to return Sunday against the Bears.

Back in October, Pederson came out and eviscerated cornerback Sidney Jones for always being hurt, insinuating that he doesn't have the mental or physical fortitude to play through his injuries, despite his concerning history.

The Eagles underwent a series of changes to their medical staff this past offseason so that their injury woes wouldn't replicate with a similar regularity. That method clearly hasn't worked out because things are just as bad.

Just take a look at last week's injury report on Wednesday as they prepared to go to battle with Chicago.

Folks, all of the players featured in that graphic are imperative components of Pederson's blueprint. At some point you stop pointing the finger at bad luck and aim it in the direction of the individuals responsible for assessing and clearing their players for action.
