Doug Pederson Reveals Eagles OL Brandon Brooks Will Undergo Shoulder Surgery and Miss Playoffs
By Thomas Carannante
This is a significant blow for the Philadelphia Eagles as they prepare for their NFC Wild Card matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Pro Bowl guard Brandon Brooks, who suffered a shoulder injury against the New York Giants in Week 17, will miss the playoffs after head coach Doug Pederson announced he's set to undergo surgery on the ailing shoulder.
Brooks was carted off the field after going down on an extra point attempt in a game where Lane Johnson already wasn't playing. Now, if Johnson can't get back to full strength by Sunday, this O-line will have serious trouble handling Seattle's defense.
It's terribly unfortunate Brooks was dealt this blow considering he was already enduring mental health issues earlier in the year when he had to depart in the middle of the Eagles' game vs. the Seahawks.
The injury report for the Eagles could fill up a roll of toilet paper, and with studs like Johnson, Zach Ertz, Miles Sanders, Nelson Agholor, Jalen Mills and DeSean Jackson either in danger or definitely missing the playoffs, it'll be an uphill battle the rest of the way.
