VIDEO: Draymond Green Jokes About Committing Flagrant 2 Against Andre Iguodala Monday Night
By Will Coleman
Newly-acquired forward Andre Iguodala has already made his debut with the Miami Heat but is set to square off against his former team, the Warriors, on Monday. Iguodala spent six seasons with Golden State and played a critical role in each of the team's NBA Finals runs. The Chase Center will likely greet Iguodala with a roaring ovation while ex-teammate Draymond Green has other plans.
Green has had a tendency to accumulate flagrant and technical fouls as a pro, and he thought it would be funny to entertain the idea of a premeditated hack on Iguodala. The 36-year-old took home 2015 Finals MVP after helping form Golden State's Death Lineup, but that doesn't mean Green won't play his physical brand of defense against a dear friend.
In their first season without Iguodala since 2012, it would be an understatement to say the Warriors have struggled. Injuries to Stephen Curry and Klay Thomspon contribute to that, and so does KD's departure for Brooklyn, but one thing Golden State has especially lacked this season is a reliable defense. Maybe the addition of Andrew Wiggins will help.
Golden State is sitting in the cellar of the NBA standings, ironically right below Cleveland, at 12-41. Curry could be set to return in March.
