Drew Lock Due for Rude Awakening in Chiefs-Broncos Rivalry Clash
By Karl Rasmussen
Drew Lock has impressed since taking over as the Broncos starting quarterback a couple weeks ago, but the rookie gunslinger is set to face his toughest test yet in a red-hot Kansas City Chiefs defense.
Having made fairly easy work of the Chargers and Texans, Lock will now take on a squad he should become quite familiar with over the course of his carer in Denver. He could be in for a rude awakening in his third start, however, considering the roll the Chiefs have been on defensively.
The Chiefs have held opponents to under 17 points in each of their last three games, including a matchup against Tom Brady and the Patriots.
For a team with its sights set on clinching a first-round bye in the playoffs, the Chiefs are well aware of the importance of their Week 15 matchup and won't underestimate the rookie quarterback.
Not to mention, Lock has some personal history with the Chiefs, particularly with the daughter of owner Clark Hunt.
While some may see this as fuel for a revenge game for the Broncos' rookie, it could very well end up negatively impacting Lock, as the spotlight will be extra bright at Arrowhead Stadium.
Despite throwing five touchdowns to just two interceptions in his first two starts, Lock may not have such smooth sailing in Week 15.
