Drew Lock Has Sly Reaction to Beefing up Broncos Offense With Jerry Jeudy
By Brady Williams
Thursday night, the Denver Broncos added some serious talent to their receiving corps. With the 15th pick in the 2020 NFL draft, John Elway and company selected Jerry Jeudy, one of the top talents in the entire rising class. The rookie should add some beef to their offense, and the prospect of another target alongside Courtland Sutton should be extremely exciting for Broncos fans and players.
Naturally, it seems it might be most exciting for Broncos quarterback Drew Lock.
The second-year signal caller took to Twitter when Denver made the pick, and his reaction seems to be pretty positive.
The smug tweet was anything but subtle, and it's certainly warranted. Jeudy had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2018 and 2019, and he runs some of the sharpest routes out of anyone in the draft. That kind of running allows for massive separation, which is perfect for a young, relatively inexperienced quarterback with a howitzer who could need some bigger throwing windows.
After signing Melvin Gordon earlier in the offseason, this move finally establishes an offense around Lock. They're getting him the help he needs, and he's certainly grateful for it.
The Broncos have been a dark horse (pun intended) team to make a run at the playoffs for a lot of analysts, and their clear commitment to establishing an offense only helps to support the notion. It's no wonder Lock is smirking.
