Drew Lock Says Broncos Offense Could Be as Good as Chiefs
By Michael Luciano
The Kansas City Chiefs have set the standard for how to build a fast, exciting offense in the modern NFL, and the Denver Broncos have been diligently watching their AFC West rival as they try to overtake them in 2020.
Broncos second-year quarterback Drew Lock was thrilled about the influx of speed and youth on offense, and he thinks that they have the potential to be as good as the Chiefs in a short amount of time.
The Broncos might not be close to Kansas City's level, but they will be one of the more fun offenses to watch in all of football.
Denver went after skill position players early in the 2020 NFL Draft, adding Jerry Jeudy in the first round, KJ Hamler in the second, and Albert Okwuegbunam in the fourth.
In the 2019 season, Lock went 4-1 as a rookie, 2019 first-round pick Noah Fant showed that he can be a truly elite receiving tight end, and Pro Bowler Courtland Sutton started to emerge as a No. 1 wide receiver. With these pieces in place, and Melvin Gordon in the backfield, Denver could be prepared to chuck the ball all over the field.
Gone are the days of watching Trevor Siemian struggle to complete a pass in the post-Peyton Manning era. With Pat Shurmur as the OC, Lock and the Broncos could do some damage in 2020.
