Dustin Pedroia Reportedly Suffers 'Significant Setback' in Knee Injury Rehab
By Jerry Trotta

The latter half of Dustin Pedroia's career has been marred by his alarming inability to overcome injuries, and the latest concerning update will likely serve as a massive blow to his confidence.
According to Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe, the former MVP has suffered a "significant" setback while working to rehab his left knee once again. Pedroia is supposedly weighing his options -- perhaps his MLB future? -- with his family and the Boston Red Sox.

His availability for at least spring training is questionable. Pedroia is discussing his options with his family, agents, and the Sox.
This news is devastating, as Pedroia was working his tail off to get back to the diamond and earn a spot as a rotational piece for Boston. Across the last three seasons, the four-time All-Star has appeared in just 114 games.
When you account for just the 2018 and 2019 campaigns, Pedey was only healthy for nine tilts as a result of lower leg injuries.

The 36-year-old took some time away from baseball last season to ponder his MLB future, but ultimately determined that he would attempt a comeback. This latest setback, however, might just force him to hang up the cleats for good.
On the bright side, there's still a managerial vacancy in Boston.
