Dwayne Haskins Isn't Happy About Adrian Peterson Tweeting His Name
By Michael Luciano
As always, the Washington Redskins are a dysfunctional mess. Rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins (who everyone insists isn't ready, and his play backs that notion up!) has thrown four picks on just 22 throws in the pros, leading to questions about how well he understands the playbook. Redskins running back Adrian Peterson claimed that Haskins doesn't have the playbook, and even amid an apology, the former Buckeye took exception with his own teammate feeding into what he believes to be a fraudulent narrative.
Haskins, who broke every Big Ten record in the book at Ohio State and was picked 15th overall this year, has looked skittish in the pocket and ill-prepared to start this year. We knew he was raw, but he's proving that he needs more time than any of us expected.
Still, the lack of support given to Haskins from the now-deposed Jay Gruden and others on the team is surprising.
If Washington wants to ruin a rookie quarterback, not giving your unequivocal support to him is a good way to start.
The arm talent is there, and Haskins is certainly going to be better next year when he understands the playbook better and has more talent around him, but it seems like even he can't escape the bad mojo incurred when you're quarterbacking a Dan Snyder team.
