Stunning news has surfaced out of Philadelphia, and it's undoubtedly going to have some Eagles fans feeling uneasy.

Since 2009, offensive tackle Jason Peters has been one of the very best hosses to do battle in the trenches in the NFL. He's a fan favorite in the City of Brotherly Love and for good reason -- he's a future Hall of Famer, after all. But could he have played his last down for the team?

Did anyone really expect this news to come? In 11 years with the Eagles, Peters has started all 140 games he's appeared in, making an amazing nine Pro Bowls and six All-Pro teams. Though he's on the back nine of his career and has battled injuries in recent years, there's no denying he's still got something left in the tank.

What could have the Eagles open to letting him walk is the emergence of 2019 first-round NFL Draft pick Andre Dillard. The former Washington State All-American tackle played in 16 games last year, making four starts. He's largely considered the left tackle of the future for Philly.

We'll have to wait to see if Peters ends up joining a new team, but it'll obviously be a weird sight if he dons a different team's jersey come next fall. Unfortunately, that's something Eagles fans will likely need to prepare for.
