Every Alshon Jeffery related story in the last few months has mentioned how he is a fragile, declining, overpaid receiver who doesn't mesh with Carson Wentz. While his numbers have taken a downturn, the analytics and advanced stats show that Jeffery is still producing, hinting at the fact Wentz should target him heavily in the 2020 season.

According to Pro Football Focus, Jeffery was targeted 27 times on 90 red zone routes, the second highest rate in the league. This shows that he is still one of the best receivers in the league at outmuscling smaller defensive backs and picking up clutch touchdowns inside the 20 yard line.

Only Cooper Kupp has a better red zone PFF grade than the physical Jeffery. Furthermore, Jeffery is also second in the league as it pertains to third and fourth down success rate, and Wentz has a 92.9 QBR on throws targeting Jeffery.

Jeffery has had some injury problems, and he isn't the most versatile receiver in the world given his lack of speed, but there are few receivers in the league better at winning 50/50 jump balls.

With the Eagles essentially tied to Jeffery for the next two seasons due to his untradeable contract, it looks like they'll just have to make do with one of the strongest possession receivers in football. How ever will they manage?
