Eagles Expected to Give Boston Scott a Bigger Role in Offense in 2020

The Boston Scott hype train is officially leaving the station, as the breakout stud from the 2019 season could be a major contributor on offense for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020.

After showing his value as a receiver and runner in the later parts of 2019 on an injury-riddled Eagles squad, Scott is the favorite to hold down RB2 duties behind starter Miles Sanders.

The 5-foot-6 Scott, a former star at Louisiana Tech, was picked in the sixth round of the 2018 draft by the New Orleans Saints, but didn't see any action in the pros until he latched on with a banged up Eagles squad in 2019. Originally just a kick returner, Scott proved he could contribute on offense, running for 245 yards and scoring five touchdowns while piling 204 yards as a receiver.

If Scott's performance against the New York Giants, in which he scored three touchdowns and totaled 138 yards, is anything to go by, he should be a force in Doug Pederson's offense.

The Eagles will make sure that Sanders is clearly the lead dog in the backfield, but Scott is going to see the field plenty as Philly tries to lean on its running backs more frequently in 2020.
