Gross Details Emerge on Injury Suffered by Eagles OL Brandon Brooks in Week 17
By Scott Rogust
The last thing the Philadelphia Eagles needed in Week 17 was a debilitating injury to a key offensive player, but lo and behold, there's a new victim of the Philly injury bug. It's offensive guard Brandon Brooks, who was carted off the field after an extra point attempt during Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
As it turns out, Brooks suffered a dislocated shoulder that had to be popped back into place, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Brooks will now undergo scans on Monday to determine the severity.
That's not a pretty picture.
This is not what the Eagles wanted to deal with amidst celebrating their division title. Now, the former Pro Bowler's status for the NFC Wild Card is officially up in the air.
To make matters worse, the Eagles already have right tackle Lane Johnson dealing with an ankle injury suffered back in Week 14 against the Giants.
Potentially having Johnson and Brooks on the sidelines won't do any favors for quarterback Carson Wentz, who is slated to face off against either the San Francisco 49ers or Seattle Seahawks, both of whom have tough defenses.
Eagles fans around the world will cross their fingers in hoping that Brandon Brooks will make a miraculous recovery. From the sounds of it, those odds are modest.
