Eagles' Brandon Graham Reveals Incredible Upside of Playing NFL Games Without Fans
By Michael Luciano
The most likely scenario as it pertains to the NFL starting on time amid the coronavirus pandemic involves playing games without fans in the stands. However, Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Brandon Graham thinks that these games present unique entertainment opportunities for the viewer at home.
Graham thinks that the lack of crowd noise will be compensated for by players constantly trash-talking.
“We are going to try to make the best of it,” Graham said. “I don’t know all the plans, but I know in the beginning for sure there are no fans, and you know I just think you’re going to hear a lot of the stuff you don’t normally hear.”
This is a sharp change from the opinion held by Rams superstar Aaron Donald, who thinks that it's impossible to play football without fans in the stands. Oddly enough, there might be just as much entertainment value in hearing all the barbs flying back and forth for the viewer at home.
If games will have to be played without fans, it would certainly be a bit unusual for players used to 60,000 fans screaming at the top of their lungs. Luckily, since NFL players like to run their mouth, Graham doesn't think the change will be too drastic.
