Eagles Cap Situation is Tremendous Even After Signing All Their Draft Picks
By Michael Luciano
Howie Roseman is playing three-dimensional chess while the rest of the league (New England not included) is still playing checkers.
Despite having to let key contributors like Jordan Hicks and Nick Foles leave in free agency, the Philadelphia Eagles are set to contend for a Super Bowl once again on the backs of franchise QB Carson Wentz and head coach Doug Pederson. Even with all of the money they have committed up and down their roster, the Eagles still have plenty of cap space available heading into the summer.
You could be the Falcons or Steelers, who both have below $3 million in total cap space, forcing to make some tough decisions on which veterans they'll be forced to part with.
Instead, the Eagles have the financial flexibility to potentially add yet another star. Disgruntled Broncos corner Chris Harris, anyone?
It's one thing to draft as well as the Eagles do and develop talent like Doug Pederson does; it's another to still maintain most of your core pieces and still have the financial security to take another risk by adding more stars. Howie Roseman's front office is absolutely killing it, folks.
