Eagles' Depleted WR Corps Ahead of Matchup With Patriots Should Have Philly Fans Worried
By Jerry Trotta

The Philadelphia Eagles have struggled to get much production out of their receiving corps in 2019, and that dilemma looks likely to rear its ugly head in Week 11.
Alshon Jeffery is the leader of the bunch, hauling in 34 receptions for 353 yards and three touchdowns in eight games. While those aren't world-beating numbers by any stretch of the imagination, he is simply Carson Wentz's go-to target lined up out wide. Unfortunately, he has yet to practice this week as he combats an ankle injury, and is genuinely in danger of missing Sunday's matchup against the New England Patriots (who naturally flaunt the NFL's best defense).
There's a realistic chance Eagles go into Sunday with Nelson Agholor, Jordan Matthews, JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Mack Hollins as their WRs against the NFL's No. 1 defense.

The running game, TEs will be critical.
After placing DeSean Jackson on season-ending injured reserve with a core muscle injury, the Eagles reunited with veteran Jordan Matthews. Given the status of Philly's receiving corps, Matthews may be called upon for a significant number of snaps on Sunday.
Should Jeffery be out of commission, that would leave Nelson Agholor, Matthews, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Mack Hollins as the wideouts the Eagles will have to deploy against New England. If that potential reality doesn't scare the living daylights out of fans in the City of Brotherly love, they're just lying.
No sign of Alshon Jeffery (ankle) for the second straight practice. Sunday could provide opportunity for rookie JJ Arcega-Whiteside, who has been backing Jeffery up this season.

Banking on Jackson's health feels more and more foolish by the week, and really makes you wonder why the Eagles' front office didn't trade for a wideout ahead of the deadline.
Look for Doug Pederson to heavily rely on the likes of Zach Ertz, Jordan Howard, and Miles Sanders against the Patriots on Sunday. He may have no other choice.
