Eagles DT Malik Jackson Reportedly Expected to Miss Entire Season With Foot Injury
By Thomas Carannante

The Philadelphia Eagles made sure to stock up on defensive line depth, but they're now experiencing significant issues with that after Week 1.
Malik Jackson, who the Eagles signed to a sizable three-year deal in the offseason, is already reportedly expected to miss the entire year with a Lisfranc injury.
#Eagles DT Malik Jackson is expected to miss the season with a Lisfranc injury suffered Sunday vs. the #Redskins, sources tell me and @RapSheet. Jackson will have surgery next week. Tough one for Philly despite their DL depth.

That's going to change a lot along the defensive front, considering Jackson was expected to be a force next to Fletcher Cox on the inside. Now it seems as if Timmy Jernigan will slide into the familiar role and help the Eagles stay fierce up front.
Let's also not forget about Brandon Graham and Vinny Curry, who can create havoc in the middle of the D-line. The biggest question is, could this lead to the return of Chris Long?
If the #Eagles make a roster move to replace, it doesn’t necessarily have to be another DT. Malik Jackson’s arrival led to Chris Long’s departure more than anything. With Graham and Curry’s ability to rush from inside, Long could return to his role as a pass down edge rusher.

Perhaps it could, but the Eagles might want to reserve those reps for young pass rushers Derek Barnett and Josh Sweat, both of whom the team is hoping will make an impact this year.
Plus, Long's a Ringer podcaster now.
