Eagles firing OC Brian Johnson was a major surprise

Fans in Philadelphia already knew that Nick Sirianni would need to find a new defensive coordinator, but now another major change is needed on the other side of the ball. That's because Brian Johnson won't be back next season.
On Tuesday, eye-opening news arrived that the Eagles have fired Johnson as OC. This comes only a few days after Sirianni and Co. decided to part ways with both DC Sean Desai and Matt Patricia. Not a lot of people saw this move coming, though.
#Eagles informed OC Brian Johnson that he won't be back in 2024, as @RealDGunn said. For the second straight offseason, Philadelphia is looking for a new OC and DC -- this time for entirely different reasons. pic.twitter.com/H5qjhkyVt3

The Eagles started off the season red hot, but they lost six of their final seven games. This included the Wild Card Round loss to the Bucs. Sirianni's job is safe for now, but he's making a lot of changes to try and get this team on the right track. Look for Johnson to land a new gig sooner rather than later.
