Eagles Need to Start Fixing Wide Receiving Corps by Signing Former Chiefs Speedster Demarcus Robinson
By Michael Luciano
After years of neglecting their secondary, the Philadelphia Eagles have made major strides towards improving it, trading for Detroit Lions star Darius Slay and signing former Los Angeles Rams slot corner Nickell Robey-Coleman.
Having said that, they still need to address the wide receiver position, as potential targets like Breshad Perriman and Robby Anderson have signed with the Jets and Panthers, respectively. The best fit for Doug Pederson's offense still out there is former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Demarcus Robinson.
Robinson has the speed to supply the vertical element that a receiver in Pederson's offense needs to add, but an underrated part of the former Florida star's game is his ball skills, as evidenced by the fact he caught eight touchdowns in the last two years despite not always getting consistent playing time.
He'll be among the most talented wideouts on what is currently a subpar assemblage in Philadelphia, and he isn't going to cost a pretty penny either. Why haven't the Eagles signed him already?
Injuries hurt, sure, but watching Carson Wentz throw to practice squad wide receivers was painful at times. Robinson could be more than a quality depth addition, as his speed and hands will be a very welcome sight amongst a depleted cast of characters at wide receiver.
