Eagles Forced to Make Roster Move as TE Zach Ertz Deals With Hamstring Issue

This is the last thing Eagles fans wanted to hear. With all of the injuries to the team's receiving core this season, Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz has been the only semblance of consistency for Carson Wentz. With his status up in the air for their tilt with the Dolphins, the team has added practice squad tight end Josh Perkins for insurance.

Perkins, a fourth-year tight end who went undrafted out of the University of Washington, has been promoted from the practice squad. While it's unlikely that Perkins has a significant role in the offense for this week's contest, he represents depth behind Dallas Goedert, who would be the No. 1 if Ertz can't go.

With Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor nursing injuries, the absence of Ertz could leave the Eagles offense exposed against a hungry Miami defense. Expect to see a lot of Jay Ajayi and Miles Sanders on Sunday, as the team will look to win with ball control and defense.

Following the Cowboys' loss to Buffalo on Thanksgiving, a win this week would allow the Eagles to remain in a tie at 6-6 in the NFC East (although Dallas owns the tiebreaker as of right now).
