Eagles Handed Blow as RT Lane Johnson Will Miss Wild Card Game vs Seahawks
In a year that's been filled with nightmare injuries, the Philadelphia Eagles just received another massive blow ahead of their playoff showdown at home against the Seattle Seahawks.
While there was some hope Lane Johnson would be able to return in time from his ankle injury, it was just announced he's officially out for the Wild Card matchup on Sunday.
Johnson hasn't been able to play since early December with his ankle issue. The All-Pro right tackle is obviously one of the best in the game, known for his outstanding ability in protecting Carson Wentz, so his absence will be significant.
With Johnson on the sideline for this one, it looks like the Eagles will be going with Halapoulivaati Vaitai at RT for the must-win showdown.
There's been plenty of movement all over the field this year for Philly, but there can be no excuses come kickoff, especially with Zach Ertz and Miles Sanders ready to rock. Seattle's banged up as well for what's expected to be a see-saw showdown. Only time will tell if Johnson's absence will prove to be too much for Philly to overcome.
