The recent narrative surrounding Fletcher Cox and his health has been an emergent storyline concerning the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason. After all, he's far and away the franchise's most important player on the defensive side of the ball, and any hint of a poor recovery was sure to jar Philly to the core.

After undergoing offseason foot surgery, the stud defensive tackle has been limited to individual drills at training camp and has yet to appear in a preseason game.

Despite all of those damning truths, however, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has now claimed that he "fully' expects the four-time Pro Bowler to be on the field for Week 1's clash against the Redskins.

If this story doesn't come as shocking, then you haven't been paying attention. Cox has recently been rehabbing inside Philly's practice facility and wasn't even seen during any of last week's practices. Naturally, that forced most Eagles reporters to become seriously worried that 28-year-old's rehab would extend beyond the start of the regular season.

Nothing has been confirmed just yet, but it would appear that the City of Brotherly Love faithful will have Cox -- and his 10.5 sacks, 46 tackles, 32 QB hits, and 12 tackles for loss worth of production from 2018 -- ready to suit up in two weeks.

What a surprising development.
