Eagles Hire Former Player Connor Barwin as Special Assistant to the General Manager
Connor Barwin spent four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2013-2016. His best year came in 2014 when he went to the Pro Bowl and was a second-team All-Pro player.
His name is once again linked to the Eagles due to his new position with the front office in Philly.
Let the Dwight Schrute comparisons begin.
Barwin did not appear in a game in 2019 and announced his retirement early in the fall. The 33-year-old apparently still had the football itch and will join a talented front office led by Howie Roseman.
Barwin seems to be a great fit for this position. He is still young enough to relate to players and he can scout talent who fit a modern NFL team. That is a major addition to an organization that has been ahead of the curve the past few years.
He will now seek to take the Dwight Schrute route and eventually shed the "assistant" qualifier of his title in the next few years.
