Eagles Injury Report Thursday Provides Grim Outlook for Week 14
By Michael Luciano
The Philadelphia Eagles have a season-defining matchup against the hated New York Giants on Monday Night Football up next on the docket, but Philly is going to head into that game a severely wounded ball club.
Wide receiver Nelson Agholor, pass rusher Derek Barnett, and linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill all missed practice on Thursday with knee, ankle, and head injuries, respectively.
Agholor, who played last week against the Miami Dolphins with a bum knee, has just 363 yards receiving in what has been a bitterly disappointing season for the fifth-year pro. Barnett, who has 4.5 sacks in his first full season as a starter, is probably the biggest loss of the three. Grugier-Hill has started six games, making 22 tackles and recovering a fumble.
To make matters worse, running back Jordan Howard still might not be able to go against the Giants as Philly's muddy backfield situation continues to get worse.
The Eagles MUST beat up on the Giants if they are to have any shot at the playoffs, and being down potentially four starters is not the way the Eagles wanted to start this week.
