Eagles Legend Jason Kelce Confirms in Statement He's Returning for 2020 Season and 'Retiring' From Another Hobby
By Will Coleman
Eagles center Jason Kelce created a lengthy Intsagram post on Thursday, and he probably had Philadelphia fans thinking he was about to retire from football. He's the team's longest-tenured offensive lineman, and he opened up the post by talking about how he's been mulling a decision on his future this offseason.
You can breathe, Eagles fans. This was all just a bit, and the 32-year old was drawing in his followers to let them know he's just retiring from competitive arm wrestling. Rest assured, Kelce will be back next year for his tenth NFL season.
Kelce expressed his excitement for the 2020 season in response to the fans and reporters that had speculated his retirement from football as of late. The franchise's cornerstone offensive lineman isn't going anywhere just yet.
Last offseason, Kelce extended his contract with Philadelphia through the 2021 season. The All-Pro center has started every game for the Eagles dating back to the 2015 season opener, and that streak will continue through next season barring any injuries.
Kelce went out on top with a 2-0 record to end his arm wrestling career, and now he'll look to do the same with football: a second Super Bowl victory with Philadelphia.
