Eagles OT Lane Johnson Tweets About Matchup Against Patriots Because He Hasn't Learned
By Chris Pyo
The New England Patriots finally lost their first game of the season last night against the Baltimore Ravens, and people took notice.
Lane Johnson of the Philadelphia Eagles must be feeling especially good right now, as he fired off a bold tweet in the aftermath of the Pats' loss.
Well, Johnson has officially doomed the Eagles.
The Patriots will head to Lincoln Financial Field in Week 11 coming off a bye week, and given that the team just suffered its first loss of the year, Bill Belichick will certainly demand a bounce back performance from his squad. If Johnson thinks the Patriots defense will surrender 37 points two games in a row, he's in for a rude awakening.
It has to be acknowledged that Johnson has a sufficient reason to feel confident about tweeting something like this out. He was an integral part of the Eagles team that beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl two years ago, 41-33.
However, just two weeks ago, Johnson himself was calling out his Eagles teammates for a lack of effort, and now he's confidently challenging the Patriots? Bold move, Lane.
Hasn't Johnson been in the league long enough to know not to set off Tom Brady and Coach Belichick? As seemingly mundane and good-hearted as this tweet may seem to be, you can be sure that the Patriots will use this as motivation to demolish the Eagles out of existence in two weeks.
