Eagles Place LB Kamu Grugier-Hill on IR and Promote DT Bruce Hector From Practice Squad
It seems like just about every week there's a new member of the Philadelphia Eagles going down with an injury.
That trend continued this week, as linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill suffered a lower lumbar disc herniation. He has been placed on season-ending IR after it was deemed that back surgery would be the best course of option.
With last week's season-ending injury to star WR Alshon Jeffery, the news regarding Grugier-Hill was the absolute last thing Philly fans wanted to hear. With the fourth-year linebacker now on IR, the team promoted DT Bruce Hector from the practice squad, to fill the void on the active roster.
Grugier-Hill featured in 10 games this season, starting six. He logged 22 tackles, four tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. He started every game from Week 7-13, but missed the team's clash in Week 14 and was active for just five defensive snaps against the Redskins.
At 7-7, the Eagles will have to win out if they hope to win the NFC East and punch their ticket to the playoffs. However, with all of the injuries hindering this squad, it's hard to like their odds as they head into a winner takes-all matchup with the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday.
