Eagles Place Ronald Darby on Injured Reserve
By Andy Loughmiller

After defeating the Dallas Cowboys in a Week 16 divisional showdown, the Philadelphia Eagles control their own destiny in the NFC playoff picture. Unfortunately, they will be without one of their starting defensive backs for the remainder of the year.
Philly made several roster moves on Christmas Eve, including waiving Jay Ajayi and placing Ronald Darby on injured reserve with a hip injury.

This could mark the end of Darby's tenure in Philadelphia, as the cornerback is set to become a free agent this offseason.
Rasul Douglas and Sidney Jones will attempt to fill his role in the secondary.

Although Darby hasn't played extraordinarily well in 2019, he is still a starting caliber corner. Despite what some Eagles fans' may think of his performance this season, his absence is not going to help them improve defensively.
Philadelphia has been plagued by injuries this year and things don't appear to be improving with just one week left in the regular season. For now, their focus is on winning a Week 17 road game vs. the New York Giants and clinching their spot in the postseason without one of their leaders in the secondary.
