Eagles RB Miles Sanders Expected to Play vs Seahawks Despite Not Practicing
By Scott Rogust
The Philadelphia Eagles made it to the playoffs despite losing countless starters to injuries. They're as banged up as ever going into Wild Card weekend, but there's positive news surrounding the status of one of the team's best players.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, rookie running back Miles Sanders is expected to be activated for Philadelphia's matchup against the Seattle Seahawks despite his ankle injury. Sanders also told reporters today that he's "hopeful" to participate in practice on Friday.
Sanders left in the first half of Philadelphia's regular season finale against the Giants with an ankle issue. It's been determined that he's been dealing with low-ankle inflammation.
The second-round pick out of Penn State is a candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year, especially thanks to his performance in the latter half of the season once Jordan Howard went down with injury.
Sanders has played in every game this season, accumulating 818 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 179 carries, while also hauling in 50 passes for 509 yards and three additional scores.
The Eagles in all likelihood need Sanders on the field to have a chance against the Seahawks. And with just a couple of days leading up to the game, his status is trending in the right direction.
