Eagles RB Miles Sanders Claims He Put in 'Good Word' With Team for Penn State WR KJ Hamler
By Scott Rogust
The biggest step in the NFL Draft season is upon us, and that's the Scouting Combine. All 32 teams have gathered in Indianapolis to look for collegiate athletes who can make an impact for them in the 2020 season.
For the Philadelphia Eagles, they are in desperate need for wide receiver help, as evidenced by their injuries throughout the 2019 season. Luckily for them, this is the deepest wideout class in years.
Penn State wideout KJ Hamler has his eyes set on the Eagles, considering his former teammate in running back Miles Sanders is Philadelphia's starting running back. Hamler said he hoped Sanders put in a good word for him with the organization, and it seems like he did, according to his tweet.
A Nittany Lion looking out for one of his own. Respect.
Hamler would be a good fit for the Eagles. Measuring at 5-9 and 179 pounds, Hamler is a fast receiver that the Eagles could put in the slot for the foreseeable future. However, the Eagles won't be able to see his speed at the combine, due to a hamstring tweak.
In his two seasons with the Nittany Lions, Hamler recorded 98 receptions for 1,658 yards and 13 touchdowns. Oh, and he was the team's leading receiver in both his campaigns.
If the Eagles are truly interested in Hamler, the Penn State wideout is projected to be selected in the second round of the NFL Draft. Ironically, that's the same round in which the team picked Sanders in the 2019 Draft. Time to continue the Penn State trend, Eagles.
