Eagles Re-Sign Stefen Wisniewski After He Called Team Out Over Playing Time

The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing back some offensive line depth in the form guard Stefen Wisniewski.
Per Mike Garafolo, the Eagles have re-signed left guard Stefen Wiesniewski on a one-year contract. The deal is worth $1.5 million and he can earn up to $500,000 in incentives based on playing time.
Wisniewski was benched last season after logging seven starts, in favor of Isaac Seumalo. He felt that the team was making him the scapegoat for the struggling offensive line. Wisniewski felt he was playing well, and when Seumalo disappointed in his opportunities, the veteran grew frustrated.
"I’m going to be honest. I’ve been playing pretty well. I really don’t think that was it. I have some theories, but I’m not going to share those publicly," said Wisniewski, at the time.
Wisniewski is now back in the City of Brotherly Love and will be looking to turn this one-year deal into a bigger contract on the open market next season. The $500,000 playing time incentive will certainly light a fire beneath him, as he will be competing to regain full control of the starting left guard position.
Across an eight-year career, Wisniewski has spent time in Oakland, Jacksonville and Philadelphia. The 30-year-old was a second-round pick by the Raiders in 2011, and spent four seasons with the team. He then spent a single year in Jacksonville in 2015 before making the move to the Eagles in 2016, where he's played since.
