The Philadelphia Eagles are off to a disastrous 5-7 start after entering the year with high expectations.

There have been disappointments all over the field and that includes a player who is out of a job in the NFL just two years after being drafted by the Eagles. The team has released wide receiver Mack Hollins.

Hollins was a 2017 fourth-round pick of the Eagles but barely made an impact during his time with the team.

He had a measly 10 receptions this season after missing the entire 2018 season with an injury. That followed a rookie year in 2017 when he only hauled in 16 passes.

As with any former draft pick, the comparisons are now flying.

The hindsight game is always fun and Eagles fans may be wondering what Tarik Cohen could have done as an Eagle. George Kittle was also on the board at the time, though he went with pick No. 146 overall, 28 spots after Hollins.

There are currently four wide receivers listed on the Eagles active roster. Two of those players, Alshon Jefferey and Nelson Agholor, don't exactly inspire much confidence.

Just ask an Eagles fan what they think of either player.

Despite all the negativity, the Eagles sit with one of the easiest remaining schedules. The release of Hollins just shows the team wants to find a way to maximize the efforts of all their contributors -- something Hollins was not.
