Eagles to Release Veteran LB Nigel Bradham
By Michael Luciano
The Philadelphia Eagles, in need of ways to fiddle with the salary cap to save some money here and there, had to say goodbye to a vocal veteran leader on defense.
The Eagles are reportedly parting ways with linebacker Nigel Bradham, who started 58 games in four seasons for the Eagles.
After spending four seasons with the Buffalo Bills from 2012-2015, the former Florida State Seminole signed with the Eagles and instantly became an impact starter on defense. Bradham recorded at least 88 tackles in each of his first three seasons as an Eagle, and he only failed to reach that mark this season because he missed four games with an injury. He also had five sacks and two interceptions in Philly.
Bradham was also a starting linebacker on that famous Eagles team that took down Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. He might be turning 31 next year, but he can still ball.
Bradham will not be out of work long given his longevity and speed at the linebacker position. If any championship contender wants a veteran addition to their linebacking room, Bradham should be among the first calls they make.
