3 Free Agents Eagles Should Sign to Complete Offseason

The Philadelphia Eagles, save for their puzzling pick of Jalen Hurts, did a good job attacking areas of need this offseason, as they added a host of new receivers, chief among them first-round pick Jalen Reagor, and some new defensive backs headlined by former Detroit Lions corner Darius Slay. The Eagles still have some extra tinkering to do if they want to push themselves into the Super Bowl contender category, and these three free agents could help them out in that regard.

3. LB Alec Ogletree

Ogletree would make Giants fans sick in the stomach frequently due to how often he was caught out of position, but he fits the type the Eagles are going for at linebacker. They value speed and athleticism at that position, as evidenced by the selection of Colorado linebacker Davion Taylor in the third round and the trade for Duke Riley. Ogletree isn't perfect, but he's a productive veteran who could help the Eagles defense out as a starter next season.

2. S Tony Jefferson

Jefferson was seemingly the only Raven who didn't have a career year in 2019, as he was cut after playing in just five games last season. Jefferson is a vicious downhill tackler with enough range to make plays as a single high or two deep safety. Jalen Mills is moving to safety, but Eagles fans have been so traumatized by his poor play that signing a a veteran heat seeking missile like Jefferson is probably the better option.

1. CB Logan Ryan

Did Ryan say some bad words about the mother of every other NFL GM? There is no way that he should be unemployed right now. Ryan has one of the best seasons of any cornerback in the league despite a lack of Pro Bowl recognition, as he recorded 113 tackles while piling up 4.5 sacks and four interceptions. All the while, Ryan served as the No. 1 corner on a team who went to the AFC Championship game. He needs to be on a roster, and Philadelphia would have quite the 1-2 punch between him and Slay.
