3 Wide Receivers Eagles Should Sign After Alshon Jeffery Injury

The Philadelphia Eagles might have walked away with the victory on Monday Night Football against the dreadful New York Giants, but they didn't do so unscathed.

In the first half, No. 1 receiver Alshon Jeffery was helped off the field after feeling a pop in his foot. On Tuesday, the Eagles confirmed that Jeffery is done for the season.

Philadelphia's receiver corps was so banged up, that they ended the game with just one active wideout. With the Eagles needing to win out this season in order to clinch the NFC East (as Joe Tessitore and Booger MacFarland stressed constantly on Monday), here are three receivers they should sign.

3. Jordan Matthews

Why not go for a familiar face? The Eagles signed Jordan Matthews back in Week 11 after injuries to Jeffery and Nelson Agholor, but he was released once both were medically cleared for Week 13. With Jeffery out, it makes perfect sense to bring back Matthews, who proved to be a quality addition during Philadelphia's postseason run last year.

2. Michael Crabtree

Yes, Michael Crabtree has fallen off the face of the Earth, but he's arguably one of the better wideouts on the open market right now. After a very brief stint with the Arizona Cardinals, Crabtree has yet to join another club. In the year prior, Crabtree recorded 54 receptions for 607 yards and three touchdowns. The Eagles need a productive receiver to make a push for the division title, and Crabtree can help.

1. Dez Bryant

This is a bit far-fetched, but why not? Dez Bryant hasn't received much traction after tearing his Achilles during his first practice with the New Orleans Saints last season. Back in Nov., Bryant said he would reach out to teams about a potential return. With the Eagles ironically facing the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16, bringing in Bryant to stick it to his former team would be gold. It's boom or bust, but these are the types of moves the Eagles have to make in order to make the playoffs.
