The Eagles have made a late transaction to buff up their secondary ahead of the preseason.

According to Adam Schefter, the Eagles signed veteran safety Johnathan Cyprien to a one-year deal.

The former Titan didn't play in 2018 as he suffered a torn ACL and was forced to miss the entire season. He played in 10 games for Tennessee in 2017, recording 57 tackles and 1 pass breakup.

Cyprien entered the league with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a second-round pick out of Florida International University. He spent four seasons in Jacksonville before joining the Titans for a single season.

Cyprien will likely fill a depth role for the Eagles, playing behind the likes of Malcolm Jenkins and Rodney McLeod.

The 29-year-old will look to remain healthy and earn his next payday in the league, getting another chance to prove himself in Philly.

Throughout his career, Cyprien has racked up 506 tackles, 2 interceptions, 16 pass breakups and 4 forced fumbles.
