Eagles Star TE Zach Ertz Questionable vs Cowboys After Big Hit to Ribs From Xavier Woods
By Karl Rasmussen
The Philadelphia Eagles got off to a fast start against the Cowboys on Sunday, but their early success didn't come without a cost.
In the first quarter, tight end Zach Ertz took a nasty shot from Cowboys DB Xavier Woods, knocking him out of the game for the time being.
Ertz seems to have suffered a rib injury on the play. He didn't immediately exit the game, but was seen running off the field a few moments later. The fact that he was taken to the locker room doesn't bode well for his availability the rest of the way, and he's officially questionable.
With a plethora of injuries already plaguing the Eagles offense, the loss of Ertz would be a truly devastating blow, especially in the must-win game against the Cowboys. Dallas Goedert will be further emphasized, and Greg Ward and JJ Arcega-Whiteside will continue to have to carry the offensive load (oh, and Miles Sanders, of course).
On the year, the 29-year-old has 84 receptions for 888 yards and six receiving touchdowns, all team highs.
