Eagles Trading Alshon Jeffery Won't Single-Handedly Solve Locker Room Issues

The Philadelphia Eagles have a problem on their hands when it comes to Alshon Jeffery.
The team and its star receiver are reportedly ready for a split even though releasing Jeffery would leave the Eagles with a $26 million dead cap hit, which may lead to the team looking to offload him via trade.
Jeffery apparently was involved in some beef with a fellow offensive player on the Eagles last season, which is part of the reason he wants to leave town, but offloading the veteran wideout won't single-handedly solve the Eagles' issues in the locker room.

Last season rumors circulated about a potential beef between Jeffery and Eagles QB Carson Wentz, though the latter attempted to squash those reports. Still, the inklings of a strained relationship continued to pop up throughout the year, including an instance in which Eagles players apparently called Wentz "selfish."
"This doesn't surprise me in the least. If you're a pass catcher on the Eagles not named Zach Ertz, of course you're frustrated."

There is clearly some lingering doubt surrounding Wentz in Philadelphia. Getting rid of Jeffery removes one critic, but he can't be the only one. The team needs to hold meetings and get to the bottom of any anonymous reports before the start of the season in order to get the campaign off on the right foot.
